Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Bakersfield

Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Bakersfield

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in warehouse and shipping operations. Also known as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized in order to transport products and supplies around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump which raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single person.

To be able to avoid loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated carefully. Equipment must be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet should be carefully stacked in order to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

To be able to lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever found on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be centered to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.

Pull on the handle and drag it behind you if you want to move the pallet. It is dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you as the thrust could cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Slowly come to a stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
