The Carriage
Like standard lift trucks, the lifting attachment could be tilted from its horizontal position to forwards and backwards. The actual amount of tilt possible completely exceeds that of vertical mast lift trucks. There is a large variety of available lifting attachments, and this ability to position makes them as efficient as possible.
Nearly all telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position which is actually parallel to the ground. Several models have rotating carriages too. This enables the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things like: boom angle and extension, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. What's more, which lifting attachment plays a really main role, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on etc. All of these specifics could be changing on a constant basis and this gives the operator much more information to take into consideration.
Telehandlers would often have some different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they could use to know a certain lift's load capacity. Depending upon the boom's configuration and the unit in particular, the load capacity could differ by thousands of pounds all together.
