Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names including: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they transport cargo. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport unstable or tall loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the right answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of transporting loads from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that could function in smaller aisles. They are very handy pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
