CareLift Equipment has been engineering and making excellent rough terrain forklifts since the year 1962. Each and every day the company strives to help all their customers reach their goals and deliver value as they know the bottom line is reliability and performance.
Boom lifts are available in 2 general types, the straight boom lift and articulated boom lift. These models are usually powered hydraulically. Most commonly straight booms are the great option for tasks that require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the equipment is capable of rotating three hundred sixty degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be raised vertically to below horizontal. Because the operator could steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is fully extended, it is a versatile machine. These units are available in diesel, propane or gas configurations as well as 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive.
Articulated boom lifts are used for lifting cargo up and over obstacles and gain access to areas which were otherwise not accessible. These lift models perform tasks that straight telescopic booms cannot do. These lifts are practically identical to the straight boom lift in the majority of aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are different articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to move around any objects easily in the work site.
To be able to maintain stability while the boom lift is completely extended, several heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Correct training is required prior to using boom lifts so as to ensure the jobsite, the operator and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
The boom lift allows for jobs requiring a lot of man hours to be done in a lot less time. These machines have revolutionized the material handling industry and have really increased production.
